Some Easter Bunny Really Messed Up!

Okay, you got us! It seems we’re not nearly as clever as the Easter Bunny when it comes to hiding things. To get to know our shipper and carrier customers better, we implemented a new habit of asking a Question of the Week during our business conversations: “Do you own pets? Who will win the Super Bowl? Which college basketball team do you cheer for?”

She wrote: “I just thought of an idea for your next poll – what is your favorite Easter candy? As I shovel in a handful of Robin Eggs. LOL.” Part chocolate, part candy, all sugar – we agree, Amanda – who can resist? This week, we hopped to it, doing reconnaissance for the weekend’s Wascally Wabbit himself.

Our own Mary Nicholas has a weakness for Reese’s peanut butter eggs. They’re “both delicious and evil,” by her account, and they fit easily into the palm of your hand, making it easy to sneak one from the kids’ baskets. Tammy Brown is a Starburst jellybean fan – they only come around once a year, and in her own words, they are “soooo addictive.” And Pam can’t resist Cadbury eggs.

I’m a chocolate bunny guy myself. Here’s a life hack for those of you with kids – convince them that the best Easter treats are chocolate gophers, then, break the ears off of their rabbits and keep them for yourself! (Not that I speak from personal experience…)

My best advice? Don’t ever give children a real bunny. Last year, one of the neighborhood kids woke up to find an adorable white furry rabbit in his Easter basket. Later that day, he said: “Mom, I think we should take this bunny back to the pet shop. The chocolate eggs he keeps laying don’t taste good at all!”

Which reminds me of one of the most disturbing typos I’ve ever seen:

Avoid the eggs and stick with the candy this weekend,
