Donuts- A Public Service Announcement

Mary Monday Donuts HeroesIt rarely happens. But occasionally, I make a mistake. A couple of years ago, I told you about my favorite day of the year. No, it wasn’t Christmas or my birthday, or Super Bowl Sunday. I said that my favorite day was the first day of school. While there is no disputing that the first day of school is indeed a blessed day, I now realize that there is another day that trumps it. That day is tomorrow, and it involves donuts.

Have I got your attention? I thought so.

You see, tomorrow is National Superhero Day. As the Superheroes of Shipping, we celebrate heroic acts every day whether it’s the courage of a real-life Superman or the heroic acts of our incredible carriers. Still, I’m glad that the entire country has set aside a specific day when we can all appreciate the superpowers of the people in our lives.

As for me, my superpowers will be manifesting in this way: I will climb walls, lift cars, and leap tall buildings (or just drive my car) in order to get to Krispy Kreme for a free box of donuts. Yes, folks, that’s right! I used the words ‘free’ and ‘donuts’ in the same sentence!

One bite of those fresh, hot glazed pieces of heaven, and you know that the founders of Krispy Kreme just might have been the real Masters of the Universe. (Did I mention that Krispy Kreme was founded in my home state of North Carolina? Coincidence?
I think not!)

Just in case you needed more proof that Krispy Kreme has super intellect, the marketing geniuses at company headquarters made this offer:

Download your Krispy Kreme Hero Appreciation Day coupon and bring it to a participating Krispy Kreme location on April 28. Buy a dozen doughnuts and get a FREE dozen Original Glazed doughnuts to share with the unsung heroes in your life.

And if that’s not enough, just remember that:
