What Are the Odds New York City?

New York CityLast weekend my wife, my kids and I traveled to New York City to enjoy some family time and, of course, a Giants game at Met Life Stadium. On Game Day, we took the kids to Central Park Zoo. As we headed uptown on the subway, my wife started chatting with a young lady wearing a Giants shirt.

“Are you going to the game tonight?” my wife asked. The young lady who would later introduce herself as Jill, replied “Yes!” “So are we”, said my wife. She continued to chat with our family on the subway. When we reached our stop, we said a polite goodbye, thinking nothing more of the brief, friendly encounter with a New York City stranger.

Imagine our shock and delight, when my eldest daughter, Emily, and I took our seats at Met Life stadium; we were seated right next to Jill, the same stranger we had chatted with earlier on the subway! What are the odds? Incalculable really, but in a venue that seats 82,566 people, our minds were blown! It may be a small world, but that was one BIG stadium!

Matchmaker Bob Skane Coincidence New york cityCaught up in the joy of synchronicity, we couldn’t resist taking a selfie with Jill (and her sister Megan) to chronicle yet another amazing coincidence. It’s fun, isn’t it, to be a part of those little reminders that there are greater forces at work in the world? Whether you consider them God Winks or signs from The Universe, you have to admit that whoever is in charge has a great sense of humor!

I’m also convinced that He (or She) is a huge football fan because uncanny coincidences seem to happen a lot in the sport:

New York CityWhat does it all mean? We don’t know, but my daughter Emily thinks this trucking industry coincidence is a sign that she needs tickets to Tay-Tay’s next big concert. I wonder if Jill is also a fan….

Keep your eyes open for ‘winks’ this weekend,

P.S. In case you missed it, the Giants didn’t disappoint – with just 21 seconds left in the game, they beat the 49ers: 30-27. Coincidence? This Giants fan thinks not!
