Community Involvement

Matchmaker stands by our commitment to the community. We recently made donations to the following non-profit agencies:

Wilmington Area Rebuilding Ministry (WARM) completes home repairs for low income homeowners, mostly widows and disabled individuals. WARM organizes volunteers to complete most of the repairs and raises funds for building materials. Typical projects include roof repairs, plumbing and electrical system upgrades, wheelchair ramp construction, appliance installation and floor repairs.

Good Shepherd Center feeds the hungry, shelters the homeless, and provides support to those in crisis. Their shelter is open every day of the year. The staff organizes hundreds of volunteers and raises hundreds of thousands of dollars each year to make this mission possible. Over the years, this agency has changed hundreds of lives.

Cape Fear Volunteer Center helps to unite our community’s many non-profits and help share resources. The center operates several services for children including a Big Buddy program and Kids Care Club that educates children about community issues and provides opportunities to engage in meaningful hands-on service.
