Love Your Work

On this day in 1880, Thomas Edison patented the electric incandescent lamp. 130 years later, on January 27, 2010, Apple unveiled the iPad.  It seems that timing and inventing weren’t the only things Thomas Edison and Steve Jobs had in common. Although Edison’s most famous quote just might be: “Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration”, he also found great pleasure in his work:

“I never did a day’s work in my life. It was all fun.” ~ Thomas A. Edison

“For the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: ‘If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?’ And whenever the answer has been ‘No’ for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.” ~ Steve Jobs

I confess that I also enjoy working and am a bit of a work-a-holic.

What about you? Do you like to work or do you prefer to align yourself with the guy who once said: “I like work; it fascinates me. I can sit and look at it for hours.”

Enjoy your weekend!~
