Post-Vacation Blues and To Do’s

Elbert Hubbard said: “No man needs a vacation so much as the man who has just had one.” Creator of PHD Comics, Jorge Cham, put an updated spin on Hubbard’s wise words with his detailed and very accurate graphic representation:

Since we’re all busy sifting through emails, setting goals, writing detailed To Do lists, closing out the fiscal year, and going to the gym, I’ll keep this Thought for the Weekend brief.

Here are the most astute observations I could find about the pleasure (especially for those with a house full of young children) and the pain of returning to work after a long vacation:

  • A good vacation is over when you begin to yearn for your work. ~ Morris Fishbein
  • I only come into work to earn more time off… Author Unknown
  • If some people didn’t tell you, you’d never know they’d been away on a vacation. ~ Kin Hubbard
  • A vacation trip is one-third pleasure, fondly remembered, and two-thirds aggravation, entirely forgotten. ~ Robert Brault
  • No vacation goes unpunished. ~ Karl Hakkarainen

Start planning your next vacation this weekend,
