Let’s face it. The first five days after the weekend are always the hardest. Some people get really upset when Monday mornings roll around. To be clear, I’m not upset that it’s Monday. I’m upset that I have to change out of my pajamas and put real clothes back on. I’m also upset because I didn’t get a tenth of what I set out to accomplish done this weekend.
I did, however, find the time to watch a commercial for the Lipton Tea company. They say they feel my pain. This summer (through September 6th), Lipton Tea is giving away an “Extra SUNday” in a sweepstakes contest. The grand prize is a year’s worth of free housecleaning (don’t even think about it–that prize is MINE!). Hundreds of other winners get 30, 60 or 120 minutes of “free” chores from a company that provides virtual assistance. The idea is that Lipton (via the professional service) will take over your “have-to-do” list so you can enjoy your “want-to-do” lists. There’s just one catch:
In order to win some “free” time from Lipton, you have to:
1. Find and purchase a specially-marked bottle of Lipton Tea (or figure out how to enter using the No Purchase Necessary rules)
2. Open the tea and find a code on the cap
3. Go online to register and redeem the code for your “minutes” of help
4. Amass enough minutes to actually qualify for help (Repeat steps 1-3 if you’re not an instant winner)
5. Choose the kind of help you want (yes, there are limits–they will not, for example, babysit your children, but they will research airfare and vacation spots online or mow the lawn.)
6. Wait for an email from Lipton’s online team confirming the date, location and chores.
Anyone else feeling exhausted yet? On second thought, I think I’ll skip the tea and just wait for next weekend when I’ll try to get those chores done myself. Let’s start counting the days:
Monday
Monday #2
Monday #3
Monday #4
Friday
Saturday
Pre-Monday
Just four more “Mondays”,
Mary
