There’s only one rule in Vegas, and I’m about to break it. What happens in Vegas is supposed to stay in Vegas, right? But I can’t help it! That place is crazy, and I can’t possibly keep all of the juicy details of my Las Vegas trip to myself. Besides, aren’t you all a little curious? I know I would be….
First of all, I have good news – I did not end up on the evening news tangled in a zip line and stuck, screaming, over Freemont Street. My friends, however, decided to put their lives at risk, paying good money to fly over the Vegas strip. Do I regret not going for it myself? Experiencing a moment of unbridled freedom, screaming above the slot machines? Not even a little bit! Plus, I was needed to capture this priceless photo of my friend, Nikki.
Besides, there’s PLENTY to see from the ground floor, in Vegas. If you’ve never had the experience of visiting Vegas yourself, allow me to inform you: you will see things that you will always remember – for better or for worse. Some things will stick with you for the rest of your life, whether you want them to or not.
For example: this gentleman’s outfit. I wonder about the series of choices that led him to black knee socks and bunny ears with a spandex bathing suit.
I’m all for expressing one’s self, and Vegas is a great place for it, but c’mon – that doesn’t even match!
Here we have Cupid, who is on a vacation of his own. He looks a little older than the chubby baby Cupid we usually see, but I understand that feeling. Sometimes long hours with no vacation can really age you. I just hope he’s having a good time and that the police officer is just asking him for a little love life advice…
(Want to see the view from behind? I’ve got the pic. Email me, and I’ll send it to you, but warning: your retinas may be scarred for life!)
Oh, right! And the pool tournament! Admittedly, I got pretty distracted in Vegas. Even if you’re not a gambler, there’s just so much to see! You don’t need to buy a ticket to a show to see good entertainment – it’s everywhere you turn.
I played a few tournaments for fun, and Dale made it through three championship rounds before he was out of the running for that $10,000 prize. Alas, no Prada bag for me this year, but that’s okay – I get to take home the best prize every night, my husband!
We also had a great time cheering for our friend, Crimson, who earned a 3rd place trophy.
The whole week was a perfect vacation – great friends, great food, great drinks, and great pool shooting.
I’ll be back in the office tomorrow so, please, give me a call – I’m ready to light up our freight boards like the Vegas strip! All I ask is that you talk softly – it might take a little while to get rid of this headache.
Happy Monday,
~Mary
