Lindsey Slingerland’s life reads like the script for a romantic comedy. Born and raised in Lake Jackson, TX, a small town near Houston, Lindsey met her future husband at a Young Life meeting when she was just sixteen. Eventually, the high school sweethearts married. Lindsey’s husband joined the Coast Guard, which meant this former small town girl has now lived in CA, VA, and, currently, NC.
Despite her many recent moves, Lindsey (whose middle name is Joy) has a strong sense of loyalty and makes it her mission to stay in close contact with her best friends. Indeed, Lindsey’s middle name is an apt descriptor – her greatest superpower is bringing people “up” with her infectious positivity and sense of humor. She is the crazy, loud-talking friend who loves to sing karaoke, listen, talk, solve problems, and celebrate any special occasion (with plenty of thoughtful gifts).
Straight out of central casting, Lindsey’s hobbies read like the girl next door. She loves hiking, bargain shopping, binge-watching TV, spoiling her young nephew, and being a “mom” to her two dogs: Lizzie, a 16-year-old Chihuahua-Terrier, and Kona, a 9-year-old Chihuahua-Pomeranian. “I’m super low maintenance”, says Lindsey, “just give me a comfy couch, a warm blanket, my dogs, and someone to talk to, and I’m the happiest person ever.”
But don’t confuse her love all things low-maintenance with her approach to her job. An administrative powerhouse, Lindsey provides support in every area of the company from accounting to marketing to HR to organizing the annual company Christmas party. No wonder this Wonder Woman likes a good nap on the weekends!
